Bryan Vance –
Baritone Saxophone
Bryan began his musical career in Vancouver, BC while
earning his Bachelor of Music degree at UBC. During his
studies, he performed with numerous bands and orchestras
and in a range of musical theatre productions including
“Hello! Dolly”, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to
the Forum”, “Oliver” and “Westside Story”.
In 2001, Bryan began a three-year term as a musician and
bandleader with Carnival Cruise Lines. While working for
Carnival, he performed in every genre of music, ranging
from classical to country and jazz to pop. In 2004 Bryan
made the move to Calgary beginning his Master of Music
degree at the University of Calgary, which he completed
in 2006.
While in Calgary, Bryan has performed with a variety of
groups, and maintains a very busy teaching schedule,
both privately and as instructor of saxophone at the
University of Lethbridge.
Bryan has performed solo recitals in many venues in
Vancouver and Calgary, has been an assistant director
and saxophone instructor at the UBC Summer Music
Institute for the past nine years and was a featured
performer with the 2006 National Concert Band of Canada.
He has been a member of the Prime Time Big Band since
the summer of 2005. |
