Jim Scott
James Scott has been the Principal Trombonist of
the Calgary Philharmonic, and the Trombone Instructor at
the University of Calgary since 1981. He has been a
featured soloist with the CPO on several occasions, and
has been a guest soloist with the Kensington Sinfonia
and Calgary Concert Band as well.
He has also performed recitals at the University of
Calgary and at the University of Lethbridge, and with
the Wind Ensemble and Concert band at the U. of C. Jim
holds a Bachelors and Masters degree from New York's
Juilliard School, and he has performed with the New York
Philharmonic, the Montreal Symphony and the New Jersey
Symphony.
He has performed on many recordings, and has been a
member of the orchestras for "West Side Story" and "Urinetown
- the Musical", as well as for the Grandstand Show of
the Calgary Stampede. James Scott is an Edwards
artist, and performs exclusively on their trombones. |
